Owners Corporation Committee Network
Helping Owners Corporation Committees to be engaged and empowered
Over 83% of City of Melbourne residents live in apartments.
In some neighbourhoods, such as Docklands, more than 98% live in Vertical Villages. These vertical communities are governed by annually elected volunteers, called the Owners Corporation (OC) Committee.
OC Committees are legally responsible for the common property of their respective buildings (valued in the hundreds of millions) and their decisions impact the wellbeing of many hundreds of culturally and socio-economically diverse residents. Yet, while a lynchpin for “vertical liveability”, OC Committees typically operate in isolation, with little access to tailored resources to assist their decision-making.
This initiative – an owners corporation committee network – promotes collegial interaction between OC committee members located in the City of Melbourne.
This network advances capacity building through peer-to-peer events and subject-matter forums.
